Our First Year is in the Books!

On October 17, 2016 the wild child celebrated its first anniversary. What an amazing experience this has been! There is no way we could have envisioned the impact this unique toy store would have on our lives and our community. To say that our Glencoe & surrounding Chicago North Shore neighbors have embraced us with open arms and appreciation for what we are trying to provide is an understatement. And from our perspective, forging lasting friendships with our customers and neighbors has been so extremely rewarding.

We have tried to give back in every way possible. Providing donated items to the JDRF, Harkness House For Children, Glencoe Family Services, The Cradle Foundation, Indo-American Center, Camp For All Kids, S.C.O.P.E., Highland Park Montessori, New Trier High School, Nite Lites of Sacred Heart, Glencoe PTO, Glencoe Public Library, Mighty Mom's Spot and many others.

We are excited for the next phase of the wild child which is the expansion into the space next door at 659 Vernon Avenue. We have taken some time to remodel the space so that it has the same look and feel of the current store space. It is nearing completion and will be open in the next few weeks. This will allow us to really spread out our merchandise and expand our products to include more toys, activities, and books; as well as clothing for kids, toddlers and babies.

We have increased our staff to include fantastic employees with many years of experience selling toys and kids products. We have recently expanded our store hours to include Sundays from 11a-4p so we can be open seven days a week. Combined with our expanded store space, we hope these improvements will provide customers with an enhanced experience for many years to come.
